For decades, The Commodore was an important part of Victoria Street and the downtown core of the city. People of each generation will remember the Commodore just a little different, and some even remember the original opening and restaurant that first occupied the spot. After many years and some great building improvements, the historical venue has been reinvented as the perfect fusion of restaurant and lounge.

“Since our official opening as ‘The Commodore – Grand Café and Lounge’ on February 26th, 2007, The Commodore has proven to be the only truly unique entertainment experience in Kamloops offering patrons a classy yet casual feel.” explains Commodore co-owner Dino Bernardo “Influenced by diversity, we offer everything from Belgian lagers and Italian coffees to fondue nights or exotic lunch and dinner dishes with European flare.”

The Commodore – Grand Café and Lounge is more than just a restaurant, it is the result of the dreams of two young entrepreneurs who were both born and raised in Kamloops. With roots in the Italian culture, Chris Monteleone and Dino Bernardo, have mastered the ability to fuse great European flare with our downtown style and offer everything for affordable prices.

“Our Chef Brian Smit has produced a new and unique spring menu and we boast having the best homemade hamburger in town,” continues Chris “Whether you stop in for a cappuccino and tapas or spend an evening dining and dancing with friends, The Commodore – Grand Café and Lounge will offer you an alternative and keep you coming back for more.”

In addition to having some of the best food and ambience the city has to offer, The entertainment and nightly music at The Commodore is just as unique as the menu.  Their in house DJ’s spin everything from hip-hop and electro to house and break beats starting at 10pm every night.  During the week, you can visit and enjoy everything from soft rock acoustic jam sessions to live jazz and funk every Friday.  They are also continuously searching for the hottest music and newest artists to premier.
